 SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Half Waif returns to the Race Brook Lodge to perform on June 11, 2022. Half Waif is the project of singer, songwriter, and producer Nandi Rose. Half Waif, which blends pop, folk, and electronic styles, has been featured on NPR's Tiny Desk series, The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Pitchfork; toured internationally with bands like Mitski, Iron & Wine and Calexico. Rose recently announced her fifth full-length album Mythopoetics with ANTI-Records. Half Waif will be supported by Albany-based folk artist Blue Ranger. Christine Zecker served in the Army for nearly a decade, including working in a specialized psychiatric unit. LEE, Mass. — Christine Zecker served her country in Army as a sergeant from 1989 to 1998. She enlisted on Halloween night at 21 years of age and was sent to basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., where she was platoon leader for her class. "It was the first real basic training, on the verge of war. Lots of people went AWOL or had breakdowns. We were in lockdowns with newspapers and media outlets. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The town clerk's office is seeking a few volunteers to help with on-site coordination of the annual town meeting on Monday, June 6, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held drive-in style, at Monument Mountain Regional High School. If the town meeting business is not complete on Monday, June 6, the meeting will continue on Thursday, June 9, at 6 p.m. Volunteers will help to check in voters and distribute documents to voters as they arrive, tally hand votes and collect yes/no slips for votes on secret ballot articles on the town meeting warrant. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Four individuals from New York State were arrested after an unarmed robbery at Berkshire Bank on Thursday afternoon. Desmond Collins, 34, of Queens; Adam Lamar Morrison, 30, of Irvingdale; Christopher Wright, 32, of the Bronx; and Shamina Cruz, 45, of Manhattan are all charged with larceny more than $1,200 and unarmed robbery. Police said more charges may be pending. An employee of Berkshire Bank's Stockbridge Road branch reported the robbery at about 2:39 p.m. A woman was attempting a fraudulent transaction when a bank employee identified the transaction as suspicious; the woman then grabbed the money and fled the bank.  MONTEREY, Mass.— The Bidwell House Museum announced that they will open for their 31st season on Memorial Day weekend. Tours by appointment will begin on Monday, May 30 and on Sunday, May 29, at 2 p.m there will be an opening concert and reception with singer-songwriter Diane Taraz, who will perform her new show "No Such Thing as Idle Hands: The History of Women's Work."  STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — Naumkeag encourages individuals to visit nature and experience culture through there new exhibit ViewEscapes which display sculptures that are one with nature. The exhibit, curated by associate curator for the Trustees of Reservations Mark Wilson showcases 12 large sculptures outside the historic Choate family cottage. Participants can also find eight sculptures and three works of art inside the home. This is not the first time George Rickey's kinetic work has been on display at Naumkeag. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The town's Community Preservation Committee will host a virtual meeting on Tuesday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. to review CPA funding recommendations for the FY2023 year. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Clinton Church Restoration has been awarded a $117,000 capital grant from MassDevelopment and the Mass Cultural Council, part of a round of Cultural Facilities Fund grants. The funds will be used to help complete architectural and engineering plans for the African American cultural heritage center the nonprofit is creating in downtown Great Barrington. This is the project's second award from the Fund, whose planning and capital grants provide investments in cultural facilities throughout the Commonwealth.
