State Awards $1.3 Billion in Loans and Grants to Fund Wastewater and Drinking Water Projects

BOSTON — The Baker-Polito Administration announced that 183 projects across the Commonwealth are eligible to receive approximately $1.3 billion in low-interest-rate loans and grants to fund construction, planning and asset management projects designed to improve water quality, upgrade or replace aging drinking water and wastewater infrastructure and cut treatment plant energy use and costs.    These offerings include nearly $189 million in additional funding that Massachusetts expects to receive from federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and $100 million from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds this year.   "Wastewater and drinking water facilities play a

Simon's Rock Alum to Host Book Reading

Jane Taylor will host a book reading of her new book, "Spirit Traffic," on May 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Black Box Theater at the Daniel Arts Center at Bard College at Simon's Rock.    The book reading at Simon's Rock is part of Taylor's North American Book Tour for Spirit Traffic from May-August 2022. Summer Temperatures Expected this Week

The Berkshires can expect an early glimpse at some summer temperatures this week.   We are looking at a high of 74 in North Adams today, according to Accuweather.   But be warned, the National Weather Service released a special weather statement that indicated that a  very dry airmass combined with gusty winds will result in elevated fire weather concerns today.   This warning expires at 8 pm   Wednesday, May 11 gets even better with a high of 80 predicted. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. Camp Wagalot Owner Finds Her Passion in Caring for Dogs

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — After being laid off, Jennifer Andrews found herself in a depression. She was 40 years old, had never been laid off before, and couldn't find a job. She found herself snuggling up to her two Labradors and had an epiphany — she wanted to do something where she could spend the day with her dogs.   The result was the opening a decade ago of Camp Wagalot, a dog day-care facility that has grown over the last decade to have a waiting list of 50 to 60 dogs.   "Most of the time I can get in the field and play with them and all. Berkshire South 5K Returns In Person

Daniel Manacher Prize for Young Artists Applications Open
