Rose P. DeFazio, 94

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Rose P. DeFazio, 94, of 119 Main St., Ashland House, Ashland, Mass., and former resident of Pittsfield, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, in Worcester, Mass.



She was born in Piea, Province of Asti, Italy, on April 7, 1923, a daughter of the late Angelo and Louise Borsello. Rose came to Pittsfield as a child and attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School. She was employed by the General Electric Co. for several years and Woolworth’s in Pittsfield, but was primarily a homemaker. 



Rose was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and after moving to Ashland, Mass., in 1982 became a communicant of St. Cecilia Parish. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling. 



Her husband, Joseph DeFazio died on February 2, 2000, and they were married on July 4, 1942. 



Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn L. DeFazio of Hopkinton, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Rose P. DeFazio will take place Friday, December 1, 2017, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 414 North St., Pittsfield, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. 



Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, will be Friday, December 1, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
