Anne T. Malone, 89

February 22, 2018

LENOX, Mass. — Anne T. Malone, 89, died February 22, 2018.

Born January 24, 1929, and raised in New York, N,Y., Anne began her career as a couture dress buyer at Gimbels Department Store in Manhattan. She met her future husband - Bill Malone - while vacationing in the Berkshires. They married in 1959.

Anne’s employment in the Berkshires began as a buyer at England Brothers Department Store. After her children were born, she obtained her driver’s license and worked alongside her husband for Grey Taxi. She was also a bookkeeper for Hagyard’s Pharmacy and worked for the Bank of Boston.  Anne continued working on a part-time basis, until she turned 80, very much enjoying her job at the reception desk at Kimball Farms.

Anne and her family have fond memories of their neighbors on both Tucker Street and Taconic Avenue.  Friends and family remember her poise, elegance, and strength of character; along with her pride in her Bronx roots and Irish heritage, her generosity, and kindness.  Anne was devoted to God and was a faithful member of St. Ann Church.

Her husband, Bill "Butch" Malone, predeceased her in 1995. Anne's three siblings, Joan, Marie and Sr. Gilmary, I.H.M, predeceased her.

Anne was most proud of being a mother.  She is survived by her three daughters, Anne, Margaret and Katherine.  She will truly be missed.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Fairview Commons Nursing Center. Their work is extremely difficult and we thank them for providing Anne with loving care.
