Marie Judd, 92

LENOX, Mass. — Marie Judd, 92, of Lenox, Mass., passed away on May 5, 2018. 



She was born in Staten Island, N.Y., and graduated from Curtis High School and Notre Dame College, where she was the president of her senior class and graduated with honors. She married the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Judd, in 1947. After raising their family in Staten Island, they purchased the Village Inn in Lenox in 1970 and became successful innkeepers entertaining guests until its sale in 1984. Subsequently, they wintered in Naples, Florida, and summered in Lenox.



After Dick’s passing in 1989, Marie moved to Morgan Manor and maintained her residence in Naples. Marie was active in P.E.O., College Book Group and Lenox Chamber of Commerce, and she spent significant time with her children and grandchildren. She was one of four children. 



She is survived by her children, David Judd and his wife Deb of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Amy Judd of Lenox, Candace Collins and her husband Jim of Marlborough, Mass., and Lisa Judd and her husband Al Perkins of Newburyport, Mass.; her grandchildren David Collins of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mathew Collins and his partner Julianna Oliviera of San Diego, Calif.; and many treasured nieces and nephews. 



Marie spent the last several years at Kindred Laurel Lake (now The Landing), where she was lovingly cared for by the staff there, including Jennifer (Director of Nursing), Luci, Fadelia, Leroy, Heidi, Lorena, Cherie, Susan, Claire, Sandy, Darlene, Vanessa, and many others. Her last days were spent with the added care of Rebecca from Hospice of Western Massachusetts.



Funeral notice: A memorial service will be held at St. Ann’s Church in Lenox on June 2, 2018, at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at the Parish Center. Burial will be private at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hospice of Western Massachusetts in care of the Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
