William West, 51

May 03, 2018

DALTON, Mass. — William Timothy West died suddenly on May 3, 2018, due to injuries related from a motorcycle accident.

Born May 24, 1966, he was the son of William and Barbara West. A lifelong resident of Dalton, he attended Dalton schools and graduated from Wahconah Regional High School in 1984. After high school, he began his long career in the automotive business, first attending Hudson Valley Community College, then working at various car dealerships before establishing West Automotive in 2000.

Being an entrepreneur, he established the Mill Town Tavern in 2005, operating it until 2015.

Bill/Timmy/Westie was not one to sit back and wait for life to happen. He had a passion for the outdoors: riding his Harley in the summer, boating at Ashmere Lake and snowmobiling in the winter.

His love of adventure, cars, food and music brought him into the lives of many. Bill supported many community events and never said no to any charity. He will be sorely missed by all.

Besides his parents of Dalton, Bill leaves his sister, Patricia (Trish) Brunet and her husband Jerry of Hinsdale; three nephews, Jordan, Will and Wyatt; his girlfriend Leslie Cuff Washburn; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, endless friends and “his best girl” Ruby.

Funeral notice: Funeral services for William T. West will be held Tuesday May 8, 2018, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to 12th Man Go Blue or Wahconah Regional High School Booster Club, in care of Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, Mass.
