Valerie A. Clancy, 53

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Valerie A. Clancy, 53, of Pittsfield, Mass., died Monday, May 14, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her family.



Born in Pittsfield on October 1, 1964, daughter of the late George and Lena Wood, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1982. At the time of her death, she was employed by Greylock Federal Credit Union.



She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Colby, gardening, playing bingo, and going to casinos, especially at the boardwalk of Atlantic City.



She was happily married to her husband, Joseph J. Clancy Jr., for 34 years.



Besides her husband, she leaves two loving daughters, Lynn Clancy and Kimberly Clancy, both of Pittsfield; mother-in-law Jeanne Clancy of Pittsfield; one sister, Claire Magnano and her husband Peter of Hinsdale; two brothers, Richard Wood and his wife Linda of Pittsfield and David Wood and his wife Sandra of Pittsfield; and one brother-in-law, Douglas Devos of Chatham, N.Y.



She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Shaun Clancy and her sister-in-law Sharon Devos.



Funeral notice: Calling hours for Valerie A. Clancy will be Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Funeral services will take place Friday, May 18, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory officiating.  



Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

I didn't know her well but used to frequent the bank and frequently had her wait on me. So shocked to hear she passed away. Sorry for your loss.
