Mary L. Duval, 90

LENOX, Mass. — Mary Loretta (Forget) Duval, 90, of Lenox died peacefully Saturday morning, September 29, 2018, at Mount Carmel Care Center with her family at her side.



Born in Pittsfield on April 7, 1928, the daughter of Mathias T. and Yvonne Davis Forget, she attended local Catholic schools and was a 1946 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. Primarily a mother and homemaker, she worked briefly prior to her marriage for General Electric Co. in Pittsfield in the payroll department.



She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She adored family gatherings and especially enjoyed Christmas eve singalongs each year with her family.



Mrs. Duval met and married the love of her life, Amos H. Duval, in 1951. They celebrated 67 years of marriage on July 7, 2018.



In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her devoted children, Michael and his wife Jeanmarie Duval of Lenox, David and his wife Patricia Duval of Lee, Paul and his wife Patricia Duval of Lenox, Linda and her husband Tommy Sullivan of Lenox, Judith Duval of Lenox and John Duval of Sheffield; and her beloved grandchildren Michael and Michaela Duval, Brian and wife Kimberly Duval, Connor and Bradley Duval, Ryan and wife Jessica Sullivan, Ian Sullivan, Hunter, Jeremy and Andrea Fox and Lily and Amos Duval.



She was predeceased by her brother Edward Forget; and her sister Dorothy Paud.



Funeral notice: The funeral will be Wednesday morning, October 3, 2018, at 9 a.m. from the Roche Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church celebrated by the Rev. Monsignor John J. Bonzagni, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery.



Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday evening, October 2, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.



Loretta’s family would like to thank the staff of Mount Carmel Care Center and Hospice Care in the Berkshires for their kind and compassionate care.

I’m sorry for your loss. My grandmother’s maiden name was Delia Duval. She was one 16 children. She married Albert Brothers and lived in the Berkshires all her life. There may be a connection.
