GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Department of Public Works and the Police Department were busy Monday and Sunday dealing with two spring snowstorms.

The Department of Public Works has 10 trucks and employees that have been treating and plowing the roads since 7 a.m. Monday and that were out Sunday at 3 and 8 a.m. They will continue to plow and salt the roads until the storm is done.

No major incidents have been reported, however, there have been several downed tree limbs and power lines. There have also been 11 minor motor vehicle crashes Monday, which were all storm related and mostly involved vehicles sliding off the road. No injuries were reported.

"Our crews and staff have been working hard to keep the roads as safe as possible, but the wet snow and cold temperatures can still make for slippery conditions. Please, drive carefully," Department of Public Works Superintendent Joe Sokul said.
