BECKET, Mass. — Jennifer Young has joined Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival as the director of marketing and communications,
Young will work closely with Director Pamela Tatge and Managing Director Andrea Sholler to set the Pillow’s strategy for all efforts related to marketing, ticket sales, audience development, patron services, public relations, and interdepartmental and external communication. She will oversee the 16-person marketing department (including seasonal staff and interns) at Jacob’s Pillow and manage staff in the successful implementation of their strategic and financial goals.
Based in nearby Pittsfield, Young comes to the Pillow from the Lewis Family Foundation, where she most recently served as the director of marketing.
“When the marketing team and I met with Jennifer, we all clicked,” says Jacob’s Pillow Managing Director Andrea Sholler. “She has so much experience, energy and enthusiasm. We are so fortunate to have found such a high-caliber professional right down the street.”
"I am thrilled to be joining Jacob’s Pillow and working with Pamela and Andrea, who are true visionaries and leaders,” Young said. “The Pillow also has a strong marketing staff - talented and wonderfully passionate about their work. I look forward to getting to know them and the Pillow community as I immerse myself in the Festival this summer.”
In joining the staff at Jacob’s Pillow, Young draws upon her 20 years of experience in marketing in the health and wellness sectors, garnered from her years at the Lewis Family Foundation, as well as her previous positions at Berkshire Health Systems and Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. In addition to her experience in the health field, Young also has experience in the tourism field from her former position as the vice president of creative marketing at Overseas Adventure Travel in Boston.
A familiar face in the Berkshire cultural scene, Young is a professional actress who has appeared in productions at the esteemed local producing theatre and actor training center Shakespeare & Company. She was last seen in the Company’s production of "The Tempest" with Olympia Dukakis. Young holds a BA in English from Boston College.
